I am not always the smartest person in the room, and I am rarely the most qualified specialist.
If you need an accountant, lawyer, employment advocate or liquidator, I know people who are better equipped than I am.
What I am good at is seeing what is actually happening.
I have spent years inside organisations watching the gap between how work is supposed to happen and how it really happens.
You can’t always see it, because you’re in it, doing it.
You and everyone around you is so busy keeping things moving that nobody has time to step back and ask whether the structure still makes sense.
That is where I usually arrive.
